 '한탄강댐 반대'물꼬 튼다
비경제성·자료조작 의혹 제기… 유네스코 관심도 유도
한탄강댐 건설계획 백지화를 요구하는 목소리가 확산되고 있다.
최형지 도의원(양구)과 환경운동연합 등 환경·시민단체 관계자 20여명은 17일 오전 11시 서울
종로 느티나무 카페에서 기자회견을 갖고 한탄강댐의 비경제성과 자료조작 의혹 등 신뢰성 문제
를 제기할 계획이다.
이어 유네스코 한국위원회를 방문해 관심을 요청키로 했다.
이훈 도의장과 장진혁 철원군의회 의장, 이철우 한탄강네트워크 사무처장, 이병욱 포천군의원,
홍원기 연천댐반대대책위원장, 서주원 환경운동연합 사무총장 등 6명은 건교부를 방문, 한탄강댐
을 반대하는 주민들의 의견을 전달할 예정이다.
지난 14일부터 구인호 의원 등 철원출신 도의원과 동료의원 6명이 도의회 대회의실에서 사흘
째 단식농성을 벌이고 있는 도의회는 정부가 지역여론을 무시한 채 댐건설을 강행할 경우 도의회
내에 댐대책특별위원회를 구성하고 이를 전국적인 문제로 이슈화한다는 계획이다.
한나라당 도지부도 성명서를 통해 "한탄강댐 건설은 환경피해와 홍수조절능력, 경제성 등에서
어느 것 하나 설득력을 갖는 것이 없다"면서 "정부와 수자원 공사는 댐건설 사업계획을 수립하면
서 수치를 조작했다는 의혹과 졸속행정이라는 비판까지 받고 있다"고 지적했다.
이어 "임진강 종합치수대책은 임진강 본류에서 찾아야 한다"며 댐건설 계획 백지화를 요구했
다.
