 김화출신 독립투사 청뢰 이강훈선생님 일대기
<강원도 김화지역 독립투사 이강훈 선생님 일대기>
고 청뢰 이강훈 선생님은 백범 김구선생에 비견되는 강원출신의 애국투사로 독립운동에 일생을 바친 행동하는 현존 최고령 독립운동가이셨다.
선생님의 삶은 100세로 파란만장한 생을 마감할 때까지 일제강점기 항일운동과 광복이후 민족정기 바로세우기 등 우국충정 그 자체였다.

<출생과 성장기>
청뢰 이강훈 선생님은 1903년 계묘년(癸卯年) 6월13일 강원도 김화에서 출생하셨다.
청뢰는 지난 1994년 펴년 자서전 ‘민족해방운동과 나’에서 유년시절부터 보아온 아버지를 중심으로 한 향신(鄕紳)들의 우국충정이 항일 민족운동에 자신을 바치게 된 인연이 되었다고 소개하고 있다.
열세살되던 해에 아버지가 돌아가신 후, 철원에서 보통학교에 입학했지만 선생이 군도를 차고 일본 모자를 쓰고 일본 국가를 부르는 것이 싫어 학교를 그만두었다.
1919년 3월12일 독립만세운동 때 대열에 섰다가 주재소 헌병들에게 붙잡혀 뭇매를 맞는 등 고초를 겪었고 그해 여름에 신의주에 있는 처남 고준명을 만나러 갔었다.
비록 단기간이었지만 그 짧은 기간 듣고 본 느낌이 지난 10년동안의 것보다 더 컸었다고 회고했다, 또 초가을에는 철원을 방문한 이완용을 보고 ‘이완용은 매국노다’라고 했다가 경찰서 유치장에서 심한 고초를 당하고 유치장 생활을 경험하기도 했다.
어머니를 두고 차마 떠날 수 없는 심정으로 고민하던 청뢰는 결국 18세가 되던 1920년 2월 북간도 행을 결심했다.
<행동하는 애국지사 청뢰 이강훈>
북간도로 간 청뢰는 그곳에서 만난 몇몇 선배들이 상해임시정부의 초대 국무총리를 지낸 이동휘선생과 노백린선생을 소개해 상하이 대한민국임시정부 국무총리실에서 약 1년간 비서로 일했다, 이후 학업을 계속하기 위해 북간도로 돌아와 북간도 연길도립사범학교에서 수학했다.
1924년 사범학교를 졸업한 청뢰는 청산리대첩의 영웅 김좌진이 이끄는 신민부에 가담, 압록강과 두만강을 넘나들며 국내 독립운동 자금을 모금하는 일을 했다. 또한 1926년에는 김좌진장군의 지시로 안도현 삼인방에 있는 신창학교 등 신민부 산하의 각급학교에서 후진양성에 힘썼다,
1929년 한족총연합회에 가입해 동북만에서 활약했으며 그해 12월에는 해림에서 북만민립중학기성회를 개최하고 이지산,김야운,김유성,전명원,김종진 등과 집행위원이 되어 민립중학을 설립, 교포 청소년들에게 조국광복을 위한 민족정신을 고취시키는데 기여했다.
1930년 1월24일 김좌진장군이 암살되자 청뢰는 북만주를 떠나 상해임시정부로 활동무대를 옯겼다. 여기서 청뢰는 유자명,정화암,백정기 등과 재중국조선아나키스트연맹을 개편해 남하한인청년연맹에 가담해 활약했다.
1933년 3월 주중 일본공사 아리요시 등 일본 요인들 수십명이 친일 중국정객을 매수해 독립운동을 저지하기 위해 상하이 육삼정에서 회합한다는 정보를 입수하고 오면직,원심창 등 11명과 함께 남화한인청년연맹의 행동단체인 흑색공포단을 조직,암살을 기도했으나 일본경찰에 체포되어 징역 15년형을 받고 옥고를 치렀다.
1940년 징역 8년 11개월 7일로 감형되어 1942년 7월2일로 형이 종료됐지만 일제는 청뢰의 민족의식이 강해 재범의 우려가 높다는 이유로 1942년 7월18일 웅본지방재판소에서 소위 예방구금(기한없는 구속)이라는 판결을 내려 1945년 10월10일 조국광복으로 출옥할 때가지 동경 교외에 있는 부중감옥에서 감금생활을 했다.
옥중일화는 청뢰의 강직한 성품을 보여주기에 충분하다. 예심조서를 받으면서 마지막 발언으로 ‘내가 아리요시를 폭탄으로 죽이려다가 못죽인 것이 사실인즉, 한몸을 죽이든지 살리든지 너의 마음대로 하라. 구형을 얼마 하든지, 극형판결을 하든지, 항소권도 포기할 것이니 빨리 결정을 짓고 종말을 지으라, 나에게 더 물을 말은 없을 것이다. 일본제국주의 최후 순간까지 저주할 것이다.’라고 말했다고 한다.
<광복후의 활동>
청뢰는 그토록 고대하던 조국의 광복을 일본 동경 교외의 옥중에서 맞았다.
1945년 10월10일 출옥했다. 출옥 5일만인 10월15일 조선인연맹 고문으로 추대됐다. 이후 귀국하기 전까지 일본에서 그와 생사를 함께했던 백정기 동지와 윤봉길, 이봉창 의사의 유해 봉환과 동포 청년들의 교육사업에 노력했다.
건동(신조선건설동맹)이 1946년 10월3일 거류민단으로 간판을 바꾸어 달고 그를 부단장으로 재추대했으나 창립초기에 받들던 백범 선생의 노선을 이탈하자 떠날 결심을 했다. 이후 신조선건설동맹 서일본 총본부 위원장 등을 역임했으며 일본땅에서도 조국의 자유주의와 인권신장운동을 위해 보안법 반대국민운동을 주도했다.
현해탄을 건너 그토록 그리던 고국에 귀국한 것은 1960년 3월이었다. 귀국후 한국사회당 총무위원으로 활동했으며, 백범 김구 선생 시해 진상규명투쟁위원회를 조직했으나 1961년 5.16군사정변 때 혁신계 정당간부로 활동하다가 투옥되어 1963년 석방됐다.
석방이후 1969년 독립운동사 편찬위원, 1977년 독립운동유공자 공적심의위원을 역임했으며, 1988년부터 92년 9월까지 10대,11대 광복회장을 역임했다. 특히 11대 광복회장 임기중인 90년 광복회 강원도지부 설립에 노력했다
또한, 매헌 윤봉길 의사 기념사업회장, 백범선생 시해진상규명위원회원장 등 수많은 독립운동 관련단체들을 이끌면서 선열기념사업에도 적극 나섰다.
정부는 이같은 청뢰의 공훈을 기리기위해 지난 77년 건국훈장 국민장을 수여했다. 특히, ‘해외독립운동사’, ‘항일독립운동사’, ‘무장독립운동사’, ‘대한민국임시정부사’, ‘독립운동사 대사전’, ‘민족해방운동과 나’, ‘청사에 빛난 선열’ 등을 집필,발간해 국내 독립운동사 연구의 기록을 다졌다.
