[鐵原】민북마을인 철원군 김화읍 생창리 주민들은 마을에 병·의원과 보건진료소가 없어 불편을 겪고 있다며 보건진료분소 설치 등을 철원군에 건의했다.
20일 주민들에 따르면 이 마을 370여명의 주민들은 몸이 아프거나 응급환자가 생길 경우 인근 김화읍 학포리 보건진료소 및 서면 와수리 의료원 등을 이용하고 있으나 버스시간대가 맞지 않아 진료에 어려움을 겪고 있다.
주민들은 김화읍 학사리보건진료소를 이용할 경우 하루 5차례 운행되는 버스배차 간격이 2~3시간 간격으로 이루어져 귀가에도 불편이 크다고 주장했다.
주민들은 특히 진료를 자주 받아야 하는 노인 인구가 증가하고 있는 데다 민북마을 가운데 생창리마을만 보건진료활동이 이루어지지 않는다며 주민불편해소를 위한 대책마련을 바랐다.
김영인생창리장은 “교통불편으로 인해 대부분의 주민들은 몸이 아플 경우 서면 와수리 5일 장날을 기다렸다가 진료소를 찾고 있는 형편”이라며 “아픈 병도 참다가 병이 악화돼야 의료기관을 찾는 주민들이 많은 만큼 마을순회 보건진료활동이라도 해 주어야 한다”고 했다.
이에 대해 군보건소 관계자는 “보건진료소가 설치되려면 관련법상 주민 500명이상이 돼야 가능한 만큼 보건진료소설치는 불가능하지만 주 1회 마을방문 보건진료활동 등으로 주민불편을 해소해 나갈 계획”이라고 했다. <李正國기자·jklee@kwnews.co.kr>
