도는 정부의 한탄강댐 건설 강행을 반대한다는 입장을 분명히 하고 이에따른 대책 마련에 나섰다.
김진선지사는 26일 한탄강댐 건설 백지화를 요구하며 서울 세종로 중앙청사 앞에서 농성중인 철원주민들을 격려한 후 철원군청 상황실에서 가진 대책회의에서 이같은 입장을 강력히 했다.
김지사는 이날 정호조철원군수와 구선호(공동대책위원장)철원군의장 등이 함께 한 대책회의에서 “철원주민들이 반대하는 한 한탄강댐은 건설될 수 없다”며 “한탄강댐 백지화를 위해 강원도는 끝까지 철원주민들과 함께 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
김지사는 “국무총리를 만나 댐이 아닌 다른 대안을 강구해 달라는 강원도의 입장을 분명히 밝혔는데도 댐 건설을 강행하는 이유를 모르겠다”며 “댐 반대를 위한 도차원의 지원단을 확대 개편하고 행정지원 등 가능한 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 덧붙였다.
또 “우선 임진강특위가 결정한 한탄강댐 계획에 문제가 없는지 여부 확인을 위해 전문가 용역작업을 수행하는 한편 향후 댐계획에 대해서도 그때 그때 효율적으로 대응해 나가겠다”고 했다.
또 김지사는 일각에서 한탄강댐 문제를 지역개발사업과 빅딜하는 방안이 제기되고 있는 점을 우려한 듯, “댐 건설 백지화를 위해 도와 철원군이 유기적인 협조체제를 구축해 나가야 한다”며 “지역에서도 한 목소리가 나올 수 있도록 신경써 달라”고 주문했다.
구선호공동대책위원장은 “댐 반대운동을 벌이는 동안 많은 경비를 지출했고 앞으로 더 많은 비용이 소요될 것으로 예상되는 만큼 도의 지원이 필요하다”고 요청했다.
