강원 철원, 경기 포천.연천 주민들이 8년째 투쟁을 벌이고 있는 한탄강댐 백지화 요구가 제17대 대선의 공약으로 채택될 움직임이 본격화된다.
창조한국당 강원도당이 23일 강원도의 오랜 현안.쟁점인 한탄강댐 계획의 실체를 파악하기 위해 한탄강 현장 답사를 실시한다.
이날 답사에는 신효중 위원장(강원대교수)과 유원일 중앙당 민원실장(전 시흥환경운동연합 공동대표)을 비롯한 도당 관계자들이 참여할 예정이다.
답사 팀은 이날 오전 11시 철원군의회를 방문해 구선호 한탄강댐 반대 철원군투쟁위원장(군의장)을 만나 환담을 나누고 댐 건설로 수몰위기에 놓인 고석정, 화적연, 비둘기낭 등 명승고적을 둘러본다.
또한 수몰 예정지인 경기 연천군 고문리를 찾아 주민들과 간담회를 갖고 실의에 빠져있는 주민들의 진솔한 목소리를 청취한다.
정주신 도당 기획위원장은 "창조한국당은 소시민들과 가치.비전.철학을 공유한다는 모토로 창당된 정당인 만큼 한탄강댐 건설로 삶의 터전을 상실하게 될 수몰지역 및 상류지역 주민들의 애환을 직접 살펴본 후 댐 백지화가 대선 공약에 채택되도록 적극 노력하겠다"고 말했다.
