　강원도의회(의장:이기순)는 14일 도의원 40명이 연명한 한탄강댐 백지화 탄원서를 서울행정법원 제4부(민중기 부장판사)에 제출했다.

　김영칠의원의 발의로 작성된 탄원서에서 도의회는 “한탄강 댐 계획은 환경과 사회적 수용성에서 바람직하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 기술적인 측면과 경제적인 면에서도 최악의 방안”이라고 밝혔다.

　특히 한탄강댐 계획이 기본적인 수치를 바꾸는 등 의도가 불량하고 분석모형도 타당하지 않다고 강조했다. 또 이 계획이 비민주적인 절차가 빚어낸 정책실패의 사례에 불과한 만큼 합리적 결단이 필요하다며 치수정책에 대한 대국민 신뢰 회복 및 댐으로 인한 사회경제적 고통을 사전에 막기 위해서라도 취소돼야 한다고 덧붙였다.

　도의회는 “한반도 내 자연생태문화재의 보고인 한탄강을 보호하는 것은 물론 연천, 포천, 철원 주민들이 예전의 평화로운 생활로 돌아갈 수 있도록 판결해 달라”고 요청했다. 이정국기자
