[鐵原】동송읍 오덕7리 강회동주민들은 마을 인근 2호선군도 사거리에 교통사고가 잦다며 과속방지턱시설 등 안전대책마련을 촉구하고 있다.
30일 주민들에 따르면 마을과 연결된 도로가 직선으로 이뤄져 차량 대부분이 과속질주하고 있는데다 버스승강장 등 시설물이 시야를 가려 최근 2~3년사이 사망사고 등 5~6건의 크고 작은 교통사고가 발생하고 있다.
특히 이 구간도로는 지난해 군도 확·포장사업이 마무리된 후 제2땅굴 및 동송읍 양지리 철새마을로 가는 새로운 진입로로 차량통행량이 급증하고 있다.
주민들은 마을앞 도로에 과속방지턱 시설이라도 있었으면 교통사고 발생량을 크게 줄일 수 있다며 조속한 대책마련을 철원군에 요구했다.
이에대해 철원군관계자는 “도로교통법상 강회동마을 입구사거리에 과속방지턱이 설치될 수 있는지 여부를 철원경찰서에 문의한후 가능하다는 회신이 오면 설치할 계획”이라고 했다.<李正國기자·jklee@kwnews.co.kr>
